The Grover Group
1st year Ph.D. candidate
Sima grew up in Isfahan, a city in central Iran known for its Persian architecture. Sima received her B.Sc. from Isfahan University in applied chemistry (2008) and M.Sc. from the University of Kashan in organic chemistry (2011). She then worked as a research assistant and a TA at Azad University of Najafabad, Iran. In her free time, Sima enjoys travelling, swimming, and cooking. Sima joined the Grover group in 2017.
1st year Ph.D. candidate
Aabid was born in Kashmir, a region famous for Saffron Crocus. Aabid received his B.Sc. in pharmacy from PCTE Institute, India (2012) and M.Sc. in pharmaceutical chemistry from Jamia Hamdard University (2014). Following his Master’s degree, Aabid worked as a project assistant at the AcSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine. In his free time, Aabid enjoys reading, cooking, and traveling. Aabid joined the Grover group in 2017.
NSERC USRA Students
Nathan grew up in Summerford, a small community in rural Newfoundland known mainly for its scenic ocean views. Nathan is a second year undergraduate student studying chemistry at Memorial University of Newfoundland. He has joined the group with hopes to gain a greater understanding of organic chemistry and some experience in the development of organic synthesis. In his free time, Nathan likes to read, play volleyball, and cook. Nathan joined the Grover group in 2018.
Brad is a Newfoundland native, born in St. John’s and has lived in the nearby city of Mount Pearl his whole life. Brad completed two years of Biochem/Nutrition at Memorial before being accepted into the MUN PharmD class of 2022. In the past he has worked at pharmacies and volunteered as a first responder. In his spare time Brad enjoys kickboxing, running, photography, and travelling. Brad joined the Grover group in 2017.
Kate grew up in Ivanovo-Voznesensk, a big educational center in a north-eastern part of central Russia. Kate is a second-year undergraduate student studying Chemistry at Memorial University of Newfoundland. She joined the group to gain experience in practical skills and techniques used in organic synthesis and to get a deeper understanding of organic chemistry. In her free time, Kate enjoys cooking, playing the guitar and travelling across the globe. Kate joined the Grover Group in 2018.
